With the goal to evaluating the quality of Fluid Thioglycollate Medium (FTM) used for the sterility tested in laboratory of vaccines and biologicals at National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB). We conducted a study to evaluate the suitability of the FTM media quality testing process using the anaerobic C. sporogenes strain with specificity criteria performed through 6 independent tests from October 2019 to March 2020 at NICVB.
The results showed that C. sporogenes strain was well growth on FTM tubes Media after inoculating 10-100 CFU are meeting the standard requirements for specificity according to WHO guidelines.
From the above research, the results have proven that the quality tested process FTM media using C. sporogenes strain at NICVB is appropriate, reliable and meets quality standards according to WHO regulations.
