DIRECT COSTS OF TREATMENT FOR MENTAL AND BEHAVIORAL DISORDERS DUE TO ALCOHOL USE AT QUANG NINH MENTAL HEALTH HOSPITAL IN 2023

Abstract

Alcohol abuse has caused many types of mental disorders, behavior, depression, and seriously affected public health and the cost of treatment. Therefore, this study with the Objective: To analyze the treatment costs of mental and behavioral disorders due to alcohol use at the Quang Ninh Provincial Mental Health Hospital. Methodology: Cross-sectional description based on data stored on the computer of Quang Ninh Mental Health Hospital from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023. Results: The direct cost for each treatment session was 4,088,885.1 ± 2,468,500.4 VND, the highest direct cost per treatment session was 9,226,470.0 VND. Regarding the cost components for treatment, hospital bed costs account for the highest proportion. Conclusion: This study presents empirical evidence regarding the direct costs of treatment classified by disease, the direct costs associated with each cost component, and the desire to monitor this trend in the future
