Diphtheria is one of the five deadliest diseases among children, especially under 6 month-old ones. Children are now vaccinated against whooping cough from 2 months old, which practically involves “Cocoon Strateg”. During the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam, there are times when it is necessary to administer a combination of COVID-19 vaccines to pregnant women and other vaccines. A retrospective study was conducted to evaluate the 7-day safety of tetanus – diphtheria – pertussis vaccine in pregnant women at University Medical Centre Ho Chi Minh City from 10/2021 to 12/2021. Research results from 78 pregnant women with an average age of 30 years: in terms of systemic symptoms, fatique was most reported with 28.2%, followed by fever with 10.3%. When it comes to injection site reactions, pain was reported in 66.67% cases, followed by swelling or redness (14.1%) and itching (9%) which witnessed a significant difference between groups who got vaccinated COVID-19 coincidentally and who did not . Conclusion of study showed that Tdap vaccine was proved safe on pregnant women in a 7-day post-vaccination period with no serious adverse events witnessed even in combination with the COVID-19 vaccine.
