Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) has been implemented in Viet Nam since 2017.Cross-sectional descriptive research aims to analyze characteristics and describe reasons due to treatment discontinuation of 34,358 PrEP clients in some provinces between 2020 and September 2022.The results showed that the 2 groups that stopped receiving PrEP the most were men who have sex with men (MSM) (80%) and heterosexual partners (10%).The proportion of people who stop taking PrEP because they are no longer at risk increases over the years while stopping PrEP due to loss of trace tends to decrease. PrEP clients in provinces and municipalities stopped using PrEP 1.6 times more than PrEP clients in other provinces.
