Background/Purpose: Describe the current status of full and timely vaccination of children
under 1 year of age and some related factors in Yen The district, Bac Giang in 2021.
Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 384 mothers with a 12-month-old child in Yen The district, Bac Giang in 2021.
Results: 100% of children were fully vaccinated with the BCG vaccine. The rate of injection
and oral administration of OPV and DPT-VGB-Hib vaccines 1, 2, and 3 were 99.0%, 96.9%,
and 95.6%, respectively. 99.2% were fully vaccinated with the measles vaccine. The reason
for not being fully vaccinated and on time is mainly due to the effects of COVID-19 (36.2%),
children getting sick on the day of injection (31.9%), and other reasons that account for a small proportion. Geography, maternal education, propaganda by health workers, false rumors about vaccines, and COVID-19 are all factors affecting incomplete and on-time vaccination.
Conclusion: 95.6% of children were fully vaccinated, and 58.3% of children were vaccinated
fully and on schedule. Strengthening the propaganda to improve knowledge about vaccines for mothers is an important factor affecting the complete and timely vaccination
