The situation of knowledge, practice and related factors on dengue control of inhabitants at Tran Hung Dao ward, Hai Duong

Abstract

Objectives: Describe the situation of knowledge, practice and some related factors on dengue control of inhabitants in Tran Hung Dao ward, Hai Duong city, Hai Duong province in 2021. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 382 subjects aged 18 years and older at Tran Hung Dao ward, Hai Duong city, Hai Duong province in 2021. Results: The percentage of subjects who had knowledge and practice on dengue control was 50,8% and 53,1%, respectively. Some factors that were associated with knowledge and practice including occupational and education level. The people who have good knowledge on dengue control were likely to have better practice at 4,44 times higher than people do not have good knowledge. Conclusions: The rates of inhabitants at Tran Hung Dao ward, Hai Duong with knowledge and practice were not good. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen communication to the people and promote disease prevention activities in the community.
