KNOWLEDGE ABOUT EXPANDED IMMUNIZATION AMONG MOTHERS WITH CHILDREN FULL 12 MONTHS OF AGE IN YEN THE DISTRICT, BAC GIANG IN 2021

Background/Purpose: To describe the current status of knowledge about expanded
immunization among mothers with children full 12 months of age in Yen The district, Bac
Giang in 2021.
Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 384 mothers with 12-month-old children in Yen The district, Bac Giang in 2021.
Results: 10.7% of mothers know all 8 diseases in the expanded immunization program for
children < 1 year old. 84.1% of mothers knew about the tuberculosis vaccine and 10.7%
knew about the vaccine against Haemophilus influenzae B virus. 20-50% of mothers knew
the expanded immunization schedule. 94.3% of mothers knew that the child may have a fever,
and 5.7% of mothers did not know the signs that the child may encounter after vaccination.
38.3% of mothers had knowledge of expanded immunization at the pass level. Children of
this group of mothers have a statistically significant higher rate of complete immunization
compared to mothers with inadequate knowledge.
Conclusion: The knowledge about expanded vaccination of mothers with children full 12
months old in Yen The was at an average level. Enhances the knowledge of mothers on
expanded immunization helps to increase the proportion of children who are fully vaccinated
